You're right, anyone can list manufacturer specs. Look at all other websites or magazines. This is exactly what we all do, no one test ALL products in a RC buyers's guide

A sub 250.00 list of engines for new racers. cool idea. but considering how long a new engine lasts in he hands of someone who is just learning to tune i would think that a sub 150.00 list would be better suited. there are several engines that put out good power and longish life that would fit under that price.

just off the top of my head

sts d21e 100.00
sts d21b 127.00
sportworks .26 128.00
Hyper .21 8p 140.00

All are very capable engines and can put up with the abuse that comes from poor tuning well.

Y'all should listen to this guy. He knows all about how long engines last in the hands of someone who cannot tune.

Good job on the site bro.................entry engines on the $200 is great for new guys... But out of all those engines, I would put on there that some of those should not be used in truggy to compete..... not enough power.

there will be 3 mod JL's at the pit, and 3 mod JL's at Motorama...so we should have a good idea of the engine capabilities after this weekend....I will say the JL has features you don't usually see on engines at this price range, extremely well designed engine from a performance standpoint..the port design is fantastic and so is the piston materials....Even stock the engine is no joke.......

Default under $250

Go Engine has three 3 21's (3 port, 5 port, and 7 port), a 25, and a 28 all under $250.
The 21's can be had in a combo kit (incl. a pipe).

Yes, I'm kinda tooting my own horn.
