Arrow rc8 diffs

I just bought a used rc8 and was going through the diffs, I took the center one apart and its like black grease in there.....is it ok to spray all the metal parts with brake cleaner??? What can I use if not, and how about the housing, it's plastic so i figured the spray would eat it. Thanks for the help, first time with the 1/8 scale!!!

You can clean the complete diff with brake clean or nitro clean - except for the rubber O Rings - which you should replace when rebuilding the diffs.
