Anyone seen this before?

How long do you think a CA glue job will last?

NitroLuver 02-14-2010 12:55 AM

sorry to tell you but it won't...you need a new case...btw how'd you do that?

HBTRAV 02-14-2010 12:57 AM

what happened? looks like the motor has taken a big hit :weird:

i have only seen that with o.s v specs before

i hope you are joking about the ca glue

Dont know hot it happened. This is my sons buggy and we raced last week at the nitro pit. I starting wrenching on it today to get ready for the nitro challenge and noticed the crack.

You can try to solder it with special aluminium solder.

This issue is seen before. On the old RB-products forums several people were complaining about it.

Find someone with a few wore out nova motors around and see if you can get a good case on the cheap. Then just swap your guts into it. Just make sure to get one that has the same crank size. They come in 13, 14 and 14.5mm varieties.

Roelof 02-14-2010 06:00 AM

Be sure to have the right boring/stroke. If the crank is different maybe you can take over the crank as well, it will work.

houston 02-14-2010 08:40 AM

Bring it in to one hobbies on Tuesday and I will switch it out for ya ,cheap

Its not a manufacturing defect , its usually caused from loose engine mount bolts or just plain beatin the pis out of the car . The nitro pit is ruff on equipment , trust me I know !

Please bring just the engine , and bring it clean ;)

Where did you purchase the n21bf ?
