Default thoughts on ninja jx .21

Do most of you still consider this one of the top engines??? Don't see very many pro's using them. Alot however use O.S.

The thing is, i am thinking of a new engine. I have 3 P/S sets and 4 con rods for my ninja, all with different stages of wear and a stock vspec (crank pin is done). I want a backup, so my dilemma is getting a new ninja (that i have lots of parts for) Or getting a whole new engine like the B5 or Plus 4 and have no spares for. Price is not really an issue (although the speed is just ridiculous). With my ninja i should never have to buy another P/S again so that is a plus.

Should i stick with the ninja and get another one?? I have only ran O.S (vspec) and ninjas.

I could just buy a new crank and use my vpspec case, carb and cooling head.

what is the consensus on the ninja??? I will be racing soon (hopefully), but weather and work has been the hold back.

The JX .21 is among the top engines on the market! One of my personal favorite off road .21s by far. Speed quality and VERY similar performance with a smaller price tag!

The Ninja is a great engine and you have parts...why bother getting anything else...

Ninja is great! Definitely a top of the line engine. Since all you have run is OS(ninja is made by OS), I say stick with them.

I just bought one to replace my v-spec in my XT8. I love o.s, and wanted to try this over a speed.

I always get asked about my motor. Its smooth and makes good power. Where is the best place to get a p/s set?

i guess it's safe to say that the ninja put the stock vspec out of production.

I mean, it's superior to the stock vspec in every way

Well, sort of. OS will be back with a comparable OS branded engine. Only time will tell what's coming. I will say that I don't think the ninja is superior in "every" way. They have different power-bands and the v-spec gets a tad more run time from my experience. The v-spec is still a great engine. Ninja just is a bit more solid.

your right. I just like the powerband of the ninja better, but the vspec does go from a stand still to 40k rpm is a hurry

I have a vspec P/S that i am getting pinched. And believe me, it is WORE out. Can push the piston all the way through
