Default Nova Plus 4 decisions

Hey guys

Well I have decided to get the Nova Plus 4... But I have a few decisions to make which I need you guys for assistance

One of the big questions is to whether to get the Plus 4 or the plus 4c, as I am after reliability (less chance of flame outs) and in general better quality... If you guys have any answers I am very keen to here them =)

Also a few more questions after I get my motor which of the following will I be better off with for better run time as my driving style eats quite a lot of fuel...

Which header:
Which pipe:
How much % nitro (also how many shims):

Thank you in advance

Ye it is a bit hard calling anyone as I am not from the states...

What do you mean by ceramic bearing? Do you mean by the Plus4-c because it has a ceramic bearing?

Thanks

What are the disadvantages (if any) of the both in comparison to the advantages?

Thanks

If you are looking for a 21 Plus 4 look no further!

Sounds like you are overseas...email mark at Powerhouse...info@powerhousercperformance.com

I'm sure he would work out something with the shipping...

I am assuming there isn't much support of these engines in USA as I see the Go-Tech threads are going ballistic with support answers

Chill man. Nova has huge support and probably one of the better US Importer-supported service and distributors here in the US.

What you're asking the difference between is pretty minor.

The +4 vs. 4C isn't a huge difference at all. The 4C is slightly smoother in the bottom end, slightly less torque in the *very* bottom end; and revs a little higher. 4C gets the OEM ceramic rear bearing.

That's it. Nothing earth shattering. So far it seems the 4C gets just a little better runtime on average; but again...not staggeringly so. They're both right on top of each other. A lot of drivers can achieve 10+min runtimes from the 4 with the 41021/9901 setup (see below) on a buggy.

Are you aware that Nova just updated the 4-series again for 2010 to include a "team" engine? It's revised a little further. Visit www.novarossi.com and go to "novarossi" and "offroad" engines to view the details. It's like a +4C.1

http://www.novarossi.it/eng/products...EAM&brand=nova

Hope that helps a bit.

As far as nitro goes; run .80 shim for 30% nitro; .70 shim for 25%.

Novarossi C6TGC or OD97T plugs work well on 25-30% nitro.

Run a 6.5mm carb insert for mileage; 7mm for a little more power all around.

Pair it with a 41021/9853 manifold/pipe setup for Truggy. Use a 41021/9901 for buggy.

As far as Novarossi support...I think you should have looked just a *little* harder because the +4 and all your questions have been answered repeatedly in a couple threads...

The +4 has it's OWN thread:
http://www.rctech.net/forum/nitro-of...-plus-4-a.html

And a General Novarossi thread:
http://www.rctech.net/forum/nitro-of...ne-thread.html

I searched up everywhere and I can't see a Nova plus4-c.1...

If there is a "revised" plus 4 coming out what would you guys do in my position...

1. Purchase a Nova plus-4 2009 (http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...ine-Turbo-Plug)

2. Purchase a Nova Plus-4c 2009 (http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...ine-Turbo-Plug)

If this new revised motor is coming out when will it be on A-main as I am overseas and order only from A-main...

Thankyou for help so far

Unless this is the new "revised" 2010 model? http://www.novarossi.it/eng/products...-4T&brand=nova

Not too sure if it would be worth waiting as I am in no rush as I need the motor in 2-3months...

Yes, that is it. The name I used is just something I made up trying to help you understand that the new "Team" engine for 2010 is more of a revision; not a whole new engine. Notice I said it is "like"; not that it was in fact named that. The Team is further "fine tuned" just like the jump from a +4 to a +4C and now the +4Team.

I take it you didn't see the direct link I provided to Novarossi's website for the new engine?

If you can only buy from Amain just get a 4C and be done with it. It is a little better for most people all around. But again; there is not a *drastic* difference between a +4 and 4C.

It will probably be Mid-April before Amain has 'em in stock. You might see them a little before that; but until they put them on the site, you really won't know.

I think I might just wait for this Nova plus 4 "team" as I already have a motor to run with in the meantime...

Thanks
