Default Exhaust Gas Cooler?

I was wondering what everyones opinions are on Exhaust Gas coolers?

Here is a link or anyone that doesn't know what I am taking about:

The device goes between the tuned pipe and the tank in, and is designed to both smooth out the back pressure from the motor as well as cool the gas going into the gas tank.
