Engine break-in stand help
What parts do I need to put a airplane prop on a off road SG crank buggy motor and where can I get the parts. I don't want to spend $120 on a RD logics stand when I can make my own. Thanks

RD Logics sells the prop mount and nut seperately.
Here is a link to the page on the RD Logics web site.

OK, I don't want to hijack the thread, but I have to ask this since I haven't broken in many nitro motors.
What are the benefits of using a break-in stand such as what the OP is talking about (or the ready-made Hudy stand), versus runing the engine in the car on the starter box (old school method), versus the heat cycling method?

It is a lot easier on the engine components to use a break in bench. The break-in stand doesn't "snatch" the motor like a starter box. Plus you don't ruin a starter box trying to break-in an engine. Damage is done on both sides of the fence using the starter box method. Brian at Pro Twister mods does all my engines. I pay him to do it and I think is money well spent.
Hope this helps....

It allows you to monitor your temps better, make subtle adjustments to low or high end, more consistant rpms. I was skeptical at first, but I won't do it any other way now. Well worth the money. You will also need a conical header to put your pipe to the rear of the motor.
