if this is your first rc buggy I'd say run this engine to the ground while learning to tune and gain experience... then buy a quality mill, there are a number of bashing engines. Please DO NOT start a new thread for that... there already are plenty of them just look at the first few pages of this forum. For starters look into Jammin, GO Tech, Werks B5 and Nova engines. You can get all of them for around $200.

that .28 properly tuned can be fast, on the other hand no pull start motor will ever be as fast as a bump start, apples to apples. And with a bump start fast reliable motor you are looking at the same cost or more as your buggy RTR, plus you will need a starter box, and for the record a race motor ex. VZ-B speed will last very litle time as this motos are not designed for WOT runs.

change the pipe on that motor to a JP2 and you'll be amazed at the amount of power it already has. I spent alot of money trying to get rid of that engine and all I needed was a new pipe. And you can find a JP2 for about $30 on here.

I agree. Try a tuned pipeset first. Most RTR style pipesets are designed for torque. Try a top end oriented tuned set and you're sure to be much more happy. Also, look into changing your clutch too. Run the snot outta the RTR mill, learn to tune on it.

If you want something that is insanely fast PM Maximo (that's his user name on Rctech). Also check out Youtube under Clockwork Racing.

Pretty much any racing engine will be faster, and there aren't any other engines that will take the RTR starter. Buy a starter box. You will reduce the weight of your car and get rid of the drag causing fail point that is the one way bearing.

If your willing to use a starter box the options for motors will more than double. Your going to be limited to mostly RTR type motor if you want to keep the roto start on there. No say that these are not good motors just a lot of other options out there too. Two of my choices would be the Werks B5 or the Jammin JPX.
