I am looking to get started in 1/8 scale buggy racing. I am leaning towards the Losi product due to my good experience with the company and my Ten-T. Also it is the most common buggy raced at my local track, so I will have more help from other racers and find more parts locally. That being said, if there is a better buggy out there for my driving style I am happy to consider it.

I am going to link a quick video of me driving my Ten-T. It should be noted that this was my first time driving on a track ever, so I will get better. I think I definitely prefer being able to drift in sweepers. I also want something that I can rotate well by use of trail braking or quick blip of the throttle, etc. So I assume I am looking for a less stable, more twitchy (nimble) vehicle. I suppose much of that will have to do with the setup too.

So is the Losi 8ight a good choice for me?

i have a losi eight 1.0 buggy if you dont want a buggy, thats not aggresive.
than i would look at ethier a (hot bodies d8, or a rc8b.) but the (losi eight rotates great if you set it up right). a racer i know watch. me running my eight and he owns a rc8b and said he, wish his would rotate like that.

Have you thought about Truggy? Sounds like you may like truggy racing. They are more forgiving, and normally can be driven on rails.

I prefer to drive smooth with a buggy. I would stick with lose if you have local support, there is no reason to buy a more expensive kit if you don't have support for it. Losi is a good vehicle.

why do you need someone to tell you what buggy or truggy to buy....

i say kyosho mp9 great buggy bit pricey, but well worth it.

I've seen too many broken mp9s to buy one. My jammin has held strong . I've broken a couple of wheels from clipping walls pretty good.

There's nothing wrong asking for others opinions just do some research yourself.

I started driving a losi 2.0 buggy in august. I'm a truggy driver. It is a handful at 1st but I am finally starting to find my groove I actually finished better with the buggy than with the truggy last race. The losi cars are worth the $$

My favorite buggies are the 808, the mbx6, and the rc-8. I think each of these can get you around turns the best. Most of these main brand cars can be tuned to rip up any track. The kyosho is a great car too, they have been making them for a long time and always turn good. The team associated rc-8 carries lots of corner speed in sweeping turns, the xray 808, my choice, responds to input really well and turns perfect out of the box with no rear end sliding, it's locked in on most tracks. Now the mbx-6 is a wild man on the jumps and bumps, but needs a little bit of tuning to get it to turn really sharp, but once it's dialed you will be more confident on difficult sections of the track, really stable car....well made too. Kyosho cars are like swiss watches...the gears turn smooth, the shocks are silk, and the geometry is usually right on. Nothing drives like a Kyosho.....Most expensive, kyosho, xray, most affordable, mugen, and rc8, most durable, xray, mugen....

#1 you hit things hard enough something is going to break.

#2 Tyler Vik dose not seem to be breaking anything, and he is fast as hell!

#3 the Jammin is a tank, even handles like one too.

You can not ask a question like this, because with 10 different people 9 times out of 10 you are going to get 10 different opinions. I finishes second in my last A main on a mbx5 with a shock with no oil and a front end that was so bad when you pushed it down it stayed down. Now I drive a Losi 2.0. What I am saying is every driver is different and each car is very capable.

smokinu, I was just saying for someone just going into 1/8th scale... The MP9 probably isn't the way to go. I've seen mp9's brake from things my X2 has held together on. Car looks great on the track but I choose not to run it because I know I'll brake it.

My x2 handles just fine. Just like you said. It's set up.
