It looks like a blue head vspec with a gold colored speed II head on it. IDK why you guys cant get the gallons out of your OS engines. I have a speed engine that has 7.5 gallons on it, tons of compression and still pulls my truggy around like its nothing. It must be the tuner or the fuel, thats the only thing I can come up with. OS engines are the easiest engines that I have ever tuned all you have to do is get it close and they run strong and then on thaqt day with you get it dead on 100% perfect they flat scream...

+1. v-specs seem to run well even with low pinch, and the decline in performance is very gradual. I think a hardened crank would make this engine "fkin golden"

Ill throw my hat in the ring here. I've run about a dozen V-Spec engines and find them to be of exceptional quality. I've also run most models of other brands too, so I have the benefit of a little perspective. I'm sure there's a minute amount that came with one flaw or another, and perhaps some that ended up with owners that have flaws, but on balance, they're among the best engines I've ever run.

You're getting a little technical. Proline hasn't won their World Championships with the exact same tire; Kyosho hasn't won their World Championships with the exact same car, etc., etc.

O.S. Engines have actually won FIVE World Championships in 1/8 off-road. Kokushi Toge in Usingen, Germany (1992), Maurizio Monesi in Kirchschlag, Austria (1994), Greg Degani in Punta del Este, Uruguay (2002), Mark Pavidis in Jakarta, Indonesia (2006), and Atsushi Hara in Charlotte, NC (2008). I don't think any other brand has won the IFMAR off-road title more that once. So OS is the most successful engine in IFMAR off-road competition by a huge margin.

The RB S7 won it at least twice.

You are correct, once with Reckward and once with Kanai. But, I think my point is still overwhelmingly valid - O.S. - 5 wins, RB - 2 wins, everyone else - 1 win.

Yes, I'm sure using a Bowflex for just 5 minutes a day will make me look like that too. I'm not going to bad mouth OS because I think they are a good company. I just have not had good luck with their products and don't plan on buying anymore no matter how they dress it up. My most recent engine of choice is consistantly giving me exactly what I need.

I've been running os v-spec for about 2 years and have no problems what so ever out of them. I have one with about 11 gallons on it and never changed anything on it not even a bearing and it still rips. My newest one has 3 gollons on it and have had no problems what so ever. They are great motors IMO. What ever they come out with I will get one.

so we have to pay an extra $70 to get a gold head? i see no other differences between this one and the current v-spec. great motors, but if i see both of them in my lhs, im going home with the blue one and an extra $70 in my pocket.
