buggy makeover

Order up a body from Kustom RC Graphics a couple weeks ago and finally got around to mounting it. The last time I ran the car was out at the sand dunes. I had to replace a couple outer wheel bearings and tore it down for maintenance. The shock caps have finally worn out, have two of the aluminum units but need to pick up another pair before I hit the track again. Replaced the wing, wheels, and fuel line with something that matched the paint job :) The body looks amazing, very happy with how it turned out! I stickered the inside of the body to prevent wear on the paint, we'll see how that works out.

Some before and after pics.

Looks good....But i wouldn't expect much from the sticker's as far as wear protection....it will wear through the sticker then the paint....i would recommend something like Heat resistant silicone which is readily available almost anywhere and will do a much better job at protecting the paint and wont be a paint to deal with if you ever need to remove it....a sticker on the other hand might want to peel the paint off with it...I dunno just something to think about. :)

The kyosho heat tape works really well.

Looking good.

What type of hex bolts are you using on the radio tray? Servos etc.

Associated 4-40 (3/4" cut to applicable size) with 3mm Racers Edge washers.

I'll check out the silicone stuff, thanks. I didnt have any issues with the pipe hurting the paint but the mud guards rubbing on the side wore through the paint real quick. Another rough spot was where the throttle linkage was hitting the body; I'm guessing the size of the Hitec combined with the rubber grommets raised the linkage enough to be problematic.
