WHATS THE DIFFERENCE!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

Whats the difference between the MBX5 and the MBX6????

wingracer 01-22-2010 06:34 PM

Most everything.

carlam 01-22-2010 06:51 PM

Like the person before me stated, most everything. Weight, suspension geometry, width....everything.

crockpot7 01-22-2010 07:28 PM

so is the mbx6 substantially better than the mbx5?

carlam 01-22-2010 07:32 PM

in a word...yes

jpz_67 01-22-2010 07:33 PM

The difference is like night and day. The mbx6 does "everything" better than the mbx5.

And that is really saying something because the 5 is still a great car. :D

I had both and was faster with the MBX5r, the MBX6 was too twitchy for me,
I personaly think that one is not better than the other, just diferent driving styles, the 5 is more forgiving and esier to drive fast, the 6 is very nimble and can bite you back.........

I can see that...

It's a whole lot lighter too. Turns better, that is the two biggest things. It also has monster shock travel. It floats over bumps and is a big step in the Mugen line....

So what I'm hearing is that one isn't better than the other? They are just different? Which one will be better at the track or is the answere they both do well depends on your style?

Thanks guys

My guess is that for most folks the MBX6 will be faster at the track, but some people still prefer the 5.

I drive Mugen for the last 5 years, from the orginal MBX5, to the MBX5R and now the MBX6.
Wen i first drove the MBX6 (october 2008) i was shockt, like many people say it was twitchy and hat way to much steering.
I build it the first time with my MBX5/R setup and that was the problem.
Wen i did some more testing with heavier diffs oils, and more and more wheel time with the buggy, i can say it is handsdown alot faster then the MBX5/R ever was in my hands on the same tracklayouts.
You just have to make a good setup and differ you driving style a bit and it will reward you with faster lap times then the MBX5/R.
My driving style is agressive and a well setup MBX6 can be driven very agressive with out being twitchy.
