Hyper 7 engine?

Hi, Im new to the forums and am needing some help. I just bought a hyper 7 roller and am now looking for a motor to make it rip. I dont do any racing, more light bashing, nothing too intense. I want a strong reliable motor that will leave buddies t-maxx 3.3 so far behind he cries. I have the option to buy a dynamite .28 427 off of an LST2 from my brother, is this a good motor for a buggy or should I get a .21? Any help is appreciated, thanks

i would not get a 28 because they are way to hard on the diffs. if you want a fast and cheap engine get a jammin JPX 21. i run 20% fuel in mine and its faster than my vspec that i run 30% in. the JPX is also extremely easy to tune. IMO its the best engine for the money. i will never buy another engine besides the JPX 21.

You should try the Werks B5. I love that engine. Ive also heard about the jpx .21 but haven't had experience with that. But the Werks B5 seems to be a hot item lately. A lot of people are buying it and loving it.

New engines keep getting more and more expensive.. what are your views on the hyper .21?

i wouldnt get one they only last maybe five gallons. i had one and they are awesome at first but then they are crap. have you looked at a werks b3 or nova bf21? they are the most reliable easy to tune engines for 150 bucks.

Get the

Novarossi .21bf engine. It's 150 bucks so worth the extra 40 bucks from one of those crappy engines....It will last a long time and run like a scalded dog...

The B5 is only $199 and out runs those $300 engines. The B5 is my favorite engine by far.

I have to wait to get the new motor, but in the mean time, what would it take to put the losi engine in my buggy. Patience isn't my thing ha. The clutch bell it had was the two staged one for the lst2, what clutch set up do i need, the crank seemed extra long or something and I want to get it right. Thanks guys

you can take off the fly wheel, clutch and clutch bell off the the engine you have now and put it on that engine and you will be all set.

Brad_9876 01-21-2010 04:57 PM

I would, but I have no engine at all. I bought it as a roller. So im completely in the dark.

jmaxey51 01-21-2010 05:02 PM

oh i see, you probably will just have to buy another clutch bell.

Is there a specific one? does it have to be a losi bell or will an ofna one work? im thinking about a 14 tooth for a buggy?

Go to Nitrohouse.com and a little studying then a phone and you should be all set. And get the Nova and be a happy man.

when i had the hyper 7 the 13 tooth worked good thats stock. but the losi bell might work but IDK. if it comes with it then just try it and see and if it doesnt then you will have to get a different one. i think you will have to get an new fly wheel, clutch, and clutch bell though because i do not think an ofna clutch bell will work with an losi clutch-fly wheel set up but i may be wrong.

The kicker with the old bell is that its the kind that has two separate sets of teeth for the lst2. So i need to find a new setup but i dont know what fits it.
