RE: Reynolds numbers-

Find an airfoil that works in the range of 15,000-45,000 (good luck with that!)

So Brad all I have to do is to sand or dremmel the forward lip off the bottom of my wing and it will work better?

i will try driving my car this weekend without the wing to see what happens. over the summer i will be working in a wind tunnel so i will see if i can get some time to experiment. the wing shape will also depend on the flow of air off of the body of the car. so one wing might not be ideal for a certain body. i really dont think this is a race winning tuning option though. i would go with which ever wing you like the look of most.

Yes... it helps... but be advised it weakens the wing substantially.

Good point... but... the question was, do aftermarket wings increase downforce? (Help the car jump nose high.) Some might, some don't, and the Associated wing is probably the equal of the "high downforce" ones for that.

If your car is kicking off the jumps there may be other reasons to look at though- bottoming out in the rear, mismatch between spring stiffness and shock fluid, etc. Even binding in the brakes or drivetrain.

I think this is what everyone should look at, set up. Not wing aerodynamics. Pre-load of the shocks, etc will make a HUGE difference on whether you go nose up or ass up off a jump.

As for the charlie situation we cannot comment for legal reasons but i can confirm the law protects the ones who do the wrong no dout about that.

NOW TO THE GOOD NEWS

The new material wing will be available early feb 2010 and we are hoping to have them available at revelation raceway by the end of feb 2010.

Our wing has never had the lip on the leading edge and to make sure we have the max downforce with out the drag component we direct the airflow through small channels on the trailing edge of the wing .

anyone need any info please do not hesitate to contact us .teamcobraracing@gmail.com

Team cobra racing wings are simply amazing, I got some last summer and felt it make an immediate difference with flight and cornering. I could put the power on earlier and the back end was still planted. Whilst in the air it would fly level. Plus it looks awesome and different. I will definatly be getting some when they are released.

Although most companies may not use windtunnels to test wings, some are simply better than others. The ofna one is an average option, which can be improved by dremmelling. Yet the TCR ones are a lot better still. These are the main two that the F1 engineers have looked at. But have apparently come up with some ways that an ultimate one could be designed.
Also they are making a couple of alterations to the body to help aerodynamics but i am yet to see what they come up with.

Well my car has a non functional wing too. Marketing folks seem to like them.
