My plan is to go with the RTR. I will just be racing at my local track and maybe some others that are fairly close (I know there is one in Antioch). I am disabled, so I can't really afford long trips since it taxes my health and finances.

I like that I can still wrench on a car while disabled, even if it isn't my full size car I would prefer to be working on! Also I can still race, even though I would prefer to be still racing big cars.

When life gives you lemons...you need to find a new hobby that is fun for you and that you can budget. I am sure I won't be able to race every weekend like the hardcore local racers either. Maybe I will race once or twice a month. But hey, it gets me out of the house.

Plus I will really enjoy the time I spend setting up the vehicle between races.

You will have a blast, setting up the car is half the batle to win, most drivers fight the car and the track, few fight the track. If you plan on club racing only it won't be expenssive (once you get all the suport equipment that you need)

And maybe because you know about racing real cars, a kit might be in your future.

still cheap
Which puts it right there in price with the other brands that don't need all the upgrades. (XRAY, Mugen, Losi, etc)

I must have TOTALLY missed something in the last 6 years I was out of racing, but last time I checked, I don't recall seeing any pro driver racing a bone stock buggy in a major race Times must have really changed if Hara was the only driver with any upgrades at the worlds.

Agreed, Actually The D8 doesnt need much compared to some, the only thing you really need to upgrade is the front center cvd shaft and captured lower inner hinge pins, and use boots and grease on the cvds.$60 total... Then if you want to bullet proof it, you can add aluminum hubs. BUt those dont come stock on anything I dont think??

I definitely though about it because of the price, but the Losi RTR is actually cheaper for me at this point since it comes with the radio, motor, etc. And it helps that I pretty much know the Losi already since I own the Ten-T.

hey man, cool deal on picking the rtr, the first up grade other then servos,
the 2.0 flex tuned chassis!

that thing dose wonders, or a bce, but they are hard to get ahold of for the losi.

hope to see you racing at some of the local tracks this season!

It also helps that you won't have to buy an extra set of tools... Losi = SAE, practically everything else = metric.
