Help soldiers in Iraq with there hobby?
Hello I am in Iraq on my second tour. Moral is pretty low and we only really have one hobbie, the problem is its nitro r/c cars and we cant get companys to send it to us because its hazmat. The only way for us to get fuel is if people send it and say its something other than fuel ie. mouthwash etc. So I was wondering if anyone would be willing to send us a quart or two to help us with our hobbie. I know this is alot to ask from people I dont know but I know somone out there might be willing to take the risk and help us out. If you are intrested let me know and ill give you an address to ship it too. Thank you in advance.

Man I don't know, mouth wash? For a Qt.? Way to many ways for something to go wrong. Have you checked the bizs over there for some? Hec, fly some one in and out for a case and walk it through. Or just break down and run batts. for a little while. You'll be home soon then you can run wild. Sorry. My bad.

If you can get Methanol I can send you pre-mixed oil to add per gallon. Just measure out 102.4oz of methanol and then add my oil and shake. Your engines will run on a methanol / oil blend, they will just idle rough, and not make the same power. But you will at least be able to run your stuff. And when you get back to the states hit me up for some fuel and fresh engines. I offer a very nice Military Discount.

We at Z-CarUSA sent a Z-Truggy to the Bagdad International Speedway for my brothers in arms to have there.
I will talk to Byrons and see what can be done.

nitro in the desert

Losi racer. Desert = sand = bad for buggies.
It was sarcasm mainly. I know they don't actually "run it in the sand".

This isn't the first time Ive seen a soldier requesting fuel. I'm surprised one of the bigger fuel companies hasn't offered to ship fuel over there at no cost...not only could it be used as a great PR campaign, it could probably be written off as well.
I cant even imagine the kind of hell our boys deal with over there on a daily basis, to get the opportunity to get out and burn some nitro when they aren't risking their lives would be a HUGE moral booster...
Werks, Morgan, Byrons, O'Donnell...any one listening????

Guys,
As most of you know I am in the military as well. I am active duty and I too have been where this person is.
I would just like to caution the requestor and anyone considering a shipment of fuel to this location or any other for that matter calling it anything other than Nitro is taking a great risk. This is the USPS and this is also going to be getting forwarded to a US APO (Military) address. I work in a post in my spare time to help them out and they test every box for chemicals. I dont know if Nitro will show up or not but if you are caught it spells disaster for you and the military member.
I am not saying to not support our troops because I am one of them. I am just saying please think of a more reasonable way to do it with out risking the trouble it can cause.
With Most Respects!!!

Methanol is allowed and can be ordered through the supply Sergeant correct? Engines will run off a Methanol / Oil Blend with 0% Nitro
