How Much Do You Spend Per Month????

I have been breaking parts lately so I thought this would be a good reference on the cost of maintaining your buggy.

Post what buggy you run and the average amount of money you spend on stock parts.

Losi 1.5 B and a Losi 2.0 B

I spend nearly a $100.00 per month on stock and non stock Losi parts. I went back and added up all of purchases from Amain (Parts Only) and spent $887.00 since January 2009.

These figures do not include air filters, or any liquids or hop ups.

MBX5-T went through 1 nitro and then 9 electric races
D8 - ~ 5 gallons

Broken parts:
MBX5T - $0 in parts last season. it's a tank.
D8 - $5 for front spindle after a big crash

Replaced parts because of wear:
MBX5T - Needs new arms and bulkheads as they are 2 seasons old. I have all the spares needed as i never broke a part on my mugen

D8 - All the plastic parts (bulkheads, lower arms, spindles, c-hubs) just for the good feeeling in the middle of the season

I am very happy with the D8 durability. I was my first season with buggy and i am still learning as it is a beast.

For comming season I will most likelly get MBX6T and I am doing a full rebuild of D8 (bulkheads, chassis, WCE CVDs remaining lightweight parts)

I guess on most cars bulkheads need replacing the most as the bottom screw holes just strip from all the maintenance.

if you take into a count all things.
gas to and from the track, entry fee, tires
fuel,glow plugs,parts,snacks,sodas.
it's more than likely around $100. a week
but I find that it's best not to keep count of
how much you spend only the amount of fun you have

4 gallons on the D8 and about $85-(lots of wings:() in replacement parts all due to ME crashing it. At this point there are a couple signs of wear on the rear arms will only cost apprx $20 to replace everything.

2 front spindles $5 each
2 rear towers $13 each
1 front tower $13
2 sets clutch bearing $3set
1 set of shoes $5
1 set of springs $3
4 wings $6 each

Thats all after 4 gallons of sketchy driving;)

I added it up a few months ago and well it was alot. I gotta do taxes in a couple months so I'll have exact figures then. But I can say racing 2-3x per month with practice is not cheap.

dreaux 01-13-2010 06:11 AM

I spend TOO MUCH

But yet, it's not enough:D

I spent about $2000USD with A-Main Hobbies last year. Wow.

I usually allow a budget of about $300 a month for racing.

8&stuff 01-13-2010 10:35 AM

$100 per month has to be a pretty good average unless you dont mind a clapped out car:lol:
