Losi Eight 2.0 parts comparison BUG - TRUGG
I’m just curious to know how much difference is their between losi Eight T 2.0 truggy and losi Eight T 2.0 buggy parts.
I had been looking at the diffs online and they just look as if they are the same.
Anyone who’s purchased either know if they are exchangeable between models.
Might even possible be the same part ???

OK so your saying the front diffs are the same between these two:
LOSI 8IGHT T 2.0 1/8 TRUGGY
LOSI 8IGHT 2.0 1/8 BUGGY
Rear diffs are different.
What about the centre diff they too look the same
LOSI 8IGHT T 2.0 1/8 TRUGGY
LOSI 8IGHT 2.0 1/8 BUGGY
Rear diffs are different.

The front and rear Truggy Diffs have different ring gears and the center diffs have different spur gears. You can run the 50T Truggy spur in the Buggy and the 48T Buggy spur can be used in the Truggy.

I just moved to a Losi 8t 2.0, and used ebay to stock up on spares, so I had a lot of questions like this, trying to determine which parts of ebay assemblies and lots would fit my truggy.
The best way I found to do it was to download the parts explosions of the all of the cars, they are available on losi's web site. I printed them out, and keep them handy when browsing ebay. If the part numbers match between the two, then you know you're good.
Truggy:
LOSA3507 F/R Diff Pinion Gear (10T)............................................. .....$16.99
LOSA3511 Front Diff Ring Gear (43T)............................................. .....$29.99
LOSA3512 Rear Diff Ring Gear (43T)............................................. .......$31.99
LOSA3513 Rear Ring Gear, 43T/10T Pinion Set................................$44.99
LOSA3514 F/R Diff Pinion Couplers.......................................... ...........$12.99
LOSA3515 Center Diff 50T Spur Gear.............................................. ....$28.99
LOSA3518 Drive Pin Set............................................... .............................. $3.99
LOSA3522 F/R CV Driveshaft Axles - (2) ............................................$17.99
Buggy:
LOSA3508 F/R Diff Pinion Gear............................................. $15.99
LOSA3509 Front Diff Ring Gear............................................. $29.99
LOSA3510 Rear Diff Ring Gear............................................. $32.99
LOSA3514 F/R Diff Pinion Couplers...................................... $12.99
LOSA3516 Center Diff 48T Spur Gear................................... $29.99
LOSA3522 F/R CV Driveshaft Axles - 2................................. $17.99
LOSA3523 F/R CV Driveshaft Coupling Set - 2........................$6.99
LOSA3526 Center Front CV Driveshaft Assy......................... $23.99
LOSA3530 Wheel Hexes(pr) Hard Ano.................................. $14.99
Pretty much the expensive ring and pinion gears don't match 100%. The cheaper parts inside the diff are the same though, as is the f/r gear cases I believe, but in my opinion that doesn't justify buying the buggy diff, unless it's super cheap.... if I'm buying replacement diffs I want the $$ parts not just the $10-12 parts.
Also, as I understand from other racers (I'm new to the 8t2.0) you don't want to put in a used rear gear case, this should be a new part if replaced. So calc that into your price if you're looking at used diffs.

on the buggy the pinion is 13 tooth and the ring or crown gear is 43
on the truggy the pinion is 10 tooth and the ring or crown gear is 43
but the ring or crown gears have different pitches to allow for the different pinion sizes, so you can't use the 43 tooth truggy ring gear with the 13 tooth buggy pinion and vice versa as they will not mesh properly.
hope this clears it up for you
