What screwdrivers are you guys using?
This may be an odd question, but what screwdrivers are you using? I would like a set with exceptional fit so I don't risk damaging aluminum screws. I using a basic Sears Craftsman 8-piece set right now and I am wondering if it would be worth investing in a superior set. Or are all of you guys using something similar?
What other tools are you guys buying above and beyond the basic stuff? Most of my tools are based on automotive needs not RC. Are there any sets designed for the RC community? I suppose so... |
i use the proline driver set, nice tools, comfortable to use, excellant quality, i would reccommend them to others

I have a bunch of different brands for different jobs.
Ratcheting snap-on screw driver with replaceable #2 phillips for things like the long phillips wood screws that hold the 2 diff halfs together. Craftsman 0x4 reed(tiny phillips) driver with spinning top for the miniture phillips type screws for holding things like radio boxes together & cant think of what else right now but I remember using it fairly often. Hudy flat blade for eng head screws. It seems to be the same dia as the holes in the heads of every eng I have with flathead screws but its too wide & thick for the back plate screws. On those I use my OFNA Jeffry Lin tuning screwdriver. For actually tuning my eng I use a old square handle long thin snap-on screwdriver that I hope I never loose because its not made anymore. I dont think your question is odd at all because it took me years to find the exact tool for the jobs I use them for & when for some reason I dont have/cant use those exact tools I just am not comfortable. |
wiha tools. made in Germany and are very high quality. I haven't broke any one of their products yet:nod::cool:

I have been pondering the idea of buying the Hudy set, after finding that the normal hardware store tools are a little small, and give lots of play in the head of the screws. Guess it is safe to say that not all 2mm drivers have the same diameter. |
