Spend time getting to know your car, ask fora dvice, set it up to be comfortable to drive and not on edge and dont overdrive the car. You'll need to learn to yield to the top runners and that means running a wide line and holding it. 5hit will happen, don't get flustered, get back into your rythym and maintain a steady pace.

We race my son in a much faster crew, I tend to gear him down and setup for getting round tight spots around the track, if need be, we turn down our EPA throttle to allow the faster guys a clean pass on straights as that's where most accidents will happen.

From there, it's a matter of racing the clock and not chasing beyond your limits, be smooth and consistent to all the drivers coming up on you as to be fair to all.

Remember, the more cars on track, the better the traction gets, more marshals, better atmosphere and the better the spectacle for all. Communicate on the stand (if permitted) and get to know the others in your heats and let them get to know you.

Be patient and credit yourself on low deviation and not fast laps or overall position. Get under 1 second deviation and you will improve by simply participating and seeing what goes on in the garages. Learn the rules and etiquette at your track, and... most important, ENJOY!

Ooops didnt realise was offroad.. but same applies.
