Default What is the best running and all around performnce motor on the market now?

Been looking into buying a motor Im looking for one that needs a lil maintence far as breaking conrods, fuel performance, great bottom and top end, bearings not wearing out as easy. Any motor is going to have its problem or problems some are greater then others. Some of the brands of motors Ive looked at has be of course the Nova Rossi, RB , Mugen Ninja, GO- Tech motors, Axe Rossi Cobra, and of course the EB Mods witch I have a thread on that one already. You get to looking at all the specs far as the bore, stoke, ports of the motor and sometimes to me they all look the same. Leads me up to part two of my question what recomendations could anyone sujest in looking for an alaround durable high performance motor that is compition worthy.

Thanks to any and all responce

Give the Axe Rossi Cobra a try it is a GREAT motor i have one that has 10 gal on it and just had it pinched and it run just like it did the day it was New. All i have done to the motor is 1 front bearing 1 New Rod and that is it for 10gal of run time. Some of the Older Axe Rossi had rod Problems but the new motors have a new rod they just came out with that is MUCH better then the old rods.

Why Nova Rossi what makes them great, Alot of pros run them and do well infact win with them but because they endorce the product doesnt mean one should go out and buy it. I will say this they must be doing something right cause they been around for years. But what hands on experience can back your answer.

The Novarossi line of engines are tried and true. Starting with the n21bf all the way to the Toro Nero, they are strong engines. Search around the forum, you will find lots of good reviews on those engines.

how hard is the torro nerro to tune compared to O.S. motors.

And from what i understand the O.S. speed is what most pros PREFER if they were to run their own motors.

Ive ran os, novarossi, and go.

I liked go but you couldnt rely on them to finish the race, the tune was very inconsistent.

I went to os. Crazy amount of power, so so run time, but you had to replace the rod often to avoid killing your engine. The speed was better on the rod but at 500$ a pop ill pass

Then and now i am with novarossi. Ive ran the +4, +4c and the toro nero. This is a great engine. Crazy amount of power but its controlable. its sutable for both the buggy and a truggy. The runtime is fantastic. Tune is very consistent. I dont see me going to another manufacturer anytime soon

OS Speed of at least a V-Spec. Nothing beats the fuel economy, tuning, consistency, and life. I get up to 20 gallons on my Speeds.

they are very easy. ive ran and owned both. the toro nero has a crazy amount of top end, the low end is so so, def run the 7mm res in your truggy, when i say this tho i run a losi with a little less stiffer springs because i like to keep my clutches longer then a day of racing(i do this with every motor ive ran tho)

and you also pay 450+ on each engine for something you can get out of a 300 engine

as far as nothing beat full economy? Come race at the nitro pit. Noone goes ten min out here on a tank unless your running novarossi, and only a few do, i am one of those people. I never could do that with a vspec or a speed even with 6mm res

The x2 would be the one to give a try. I have 2-x1 Cobra's and 1-x1 Mammba and Love them all GREAT motors.

Ninja should be the way to go then right? I have one and love it. THe crank and rod last unlike the standard vspec.
