Default Know anything about Go engines?

I recently picked up a Go .28 3 port engine for my kyosho inferno ST-US, but I was hoping to use my existing (from the gxr28 engine that was originally on here) clutch and flywheel. Now the angle of the carb means I need a smaller flywheel, and the 14mm crankshaft means i need a wider crank/flywheet nut.

Any ideas where I can get either?

Thanks muchly

James

You can put a shim behind the flywheel. I only use Mugen flywheels currently but when I ran Odonnell I had to shim behind the flywheel because of the angle of the carbs on Go motors.

Usually the flywheel dia. is determined by the hieght of the motor mounts. If you go too much smaller the flywheel will be to far up in the chassis. The 14mm part of the crank is inside the motor, the shaft should be 7mm same as almost all motors. I have never seen a flywheel hit the carb? you do know you can turn the carb side to side?

We use Go motors on our Kyosho Strr, I believe that your truck may be based off th e strr and the motor mounts, flywheel, etc may interchange.

this is what you have?

The flywheel doesn't look to big?

These will fit the Go engine and should fit your car, measure your flywheel, this one is 34mm.

Yep, mine is the st-us. Do you mean I can rotate the carb in the engine housing? Can this be done by hand, or do I need to loosen something first?

Hopefully moving the carb will leave me with some space

Cheers

There is a pinch bolt that tightens the carb, loosen it up a couple turns and give the bolt a tap with the other end of the wrench. Then rotate the carb clockwise and it should come free. Be sure when you tighten it that you don't overtighten and push the carb down in the block to seal it why you tighten it.

Didn't work, still fouled the carb. I've turned my flywheel down to 34mm as a temporary measure. Fits ok, but not sure how it's gonna run
