Not sure about other small blocks for that price, but between the first two I would definitely go for the 3.3. It has more torque, tunes easier, and runs cooler than the 2.5. Only weak point of the 3.3 is that it uses the 2.5 conrod. But as long as you preheat your engine before starting it, for the break in period at least, its not an issue.

haha the 3.3 only lasts about a gallon before it needs new bearings rod and a pinch
they love to run 265 all day,
best bet is to drop an os18tm in her.

OS18TZ is a great option and in your price range.. The 18tz will run around 230 - 260 on temp, and never miss a beat.. They are shorter stroke, but will scream once they get wound up.. I've seen 3 of them at my local track and they all sound like they are going to come apart, but they keep on keeping on.. Not sure what is different from them and the 18tm, but he tm doesn't seem to last as long. And, I don't know why?

Os 21tm is another, but outa that price range.. If your willing to spend the money on the OS21TM then get the RB 23 for REVO, much better motor, and makes great power..

Only if you don't know how to tune.
The 18tm has been discontinued and the replacement from os is the 21tm, which is more than $150.

Forgot about the tz. I've seen a couple of them fitted to maxx's and they really do scream.
I do remember something about them not being a direct drop in though. There was something about modding the crank...
