Default TorqMaster LC 12V 7A starter battery charging/capacity question

For some reason I am only getting about 7 or 8 starts out of this battery before it gets weak enough where it has trouble turning over my new losi eight. I am using the OFNA starter box and the power indicator LED's get to 2 lights at that point and it just struggles to turn over the motor and usually just stalls. At rest the battery is at about 12.4V and dropped into the 11V area when being used. I will confirm this after I charge it one more time. I am using a triton EQ and have tried to charge it anywhere from .8A to 5A with the same results. Do I need to cycle this battery or something to get it to actually hold a decent charge? I put in a LIPO I had for another starter box and the thing works great. I'd hate to have spent the money on this Gel cell battery for nothing. The LHS said the LIPO would fry the motor at some point so I don't really want to use that pack for the starter box. Any input/help would be appreciated.

take it down to pep boys and have them put it on thier battery testing thing. they should be able to tell if the battery has a problem or not.

as far as the lipo, how many volts is it? i would run that in the starter box over those crappy gel cell batteries any day. what kind of ofna box is it?

it could have a dead cell. you never know.

if your lipo pack is 14 volt then that will be prefectly fine on that starter box. i have the same ofna chrome top box, and let me tell you, that thing is beefy as hell!
