In a 1/8 truggy what would be a good set of servos both for steering and throttle. What sort of strength do you need as a minimum. Thanks

The new Savöx SC-1256TG (20kg/0,14sec @6Volt) for steering and Savöx SC-1258TG (12kg/0,08sec @ 6 Volt) on throttle/brake are a great choise for any Truggy!

Hitec 7955 TG, nothing else comes even close, direct on lipo and you are set for years to come...

The ace 1015 gets sloppy too fast on a truggy. The jr9000t or jr9100t are a sure bet that you will be happy with. I have also had good luck lately with my Team Orion VDS 2015. Feels exactly the same as my 9000t did just at a lower initial cost.

Hitec 7950 & 7940 they seem to be bulletproof so far. They are the new and improved 7955's. I have given JR more than a fair chance and they keep blowing up, so I'm all hitec now. The others will work like ace, futaba, airtronics (sanwa) but I admit it, Hitec is the king.

i run the hitec 7955's and they are great! ive ran them over a year direct lipo and i haven't doubted them once! like frank said, hitec is the king of servos!! also they have a warrenty no other brand can beat! they will replace or repair ANY servo for you free of charge, exept for shipping

I personally like Futaba, I run the bls351's in my buggy, and s9351,s9451 in my truggy...never had any issues but Hitec does have a killer warranty if you do run into problems......

Confused yet with all the answers?? man this is one of the hardest questions cuz you will get many answers, many servos out there are good servos, to make your choice easier, first, whats you budget for both servos?? some run for 160 bucks for both and some run for 400 bucks for both.
second things is whats available at your LHS?? you might need parts in the future, servo case, gears whatever part, its nice to find the parts you need where you race. last thing, any 15KGs servo and above is good for steering and and any 12KGs/.10s and above or faster is good for throttle. Just my opinion. i run 20KGs (savox) steering and 15Kgs (ACE) throttle.

1+ the orion servos are underated cause of there lower price they come with aluminum and titauim gears and center really good and have good luck with them and they have one that has prently of torque for a truggy also ,it all depends on what u want to spend presonlly i never had luck with the cheaper hitecs at least with the centering manily

I have found the new hitec 7940 & 7950 on ebay nib for around 120. The 7955's are great too. IDK if the orion stuff will hold up to 1/8 scale. 1/8 scale is the hardest on parts, engines and servos included. That alum gear in the orion stuff will prob not hold up. Airtronics use to have a great servo that had great specs but it had an alum gear too and well it would always strip out. Just my 2 cents. You cant beat the price and specs of the orion stuff though.

Futaba's new S9157 is a bear!!! If you don't set your endpoints carefully you might tear off one of your front arms in a hard corner.

Seriously, I bought it near the beginning of April 09' and have not had any problems. Best big torque servo I have ever owned.
