Let me try to fiquere this out: What is a 1/16 revo slash class???? Your track is going to start a class for them but they wont run seperate classes for nitro and electric buggys, either thats a dumb track or your info is wrong.

traxxas makes a 1/16 slash and revo some people have the 1/16 revo and the 1/16 slash. they whould have a seperate class for the 1/8 electric buggy if, there was enough to start a class, theres only been 2 of them there .

they have a short corse class now on a 1/8 and no they arent gone to clear the big double but they are fun to drive.

I have a Gt-2. I love the thing as it just as fun to drive as a 1/8th ...

For next year though I'm not going to run the thing .
Roar gave up and my local series (NCT) gave it up as well...

Things are not looking good for a class that deserves so much more...

O-I know !

Maybe if they made a 1/8th scale version of the Gt-2 things would change ....

It'd be harder to drive (assuming it was still 2wd). I think the key is good track grooming. There was a time when 1/10th electric offroad was run on outdoor tracks. It's fallen out of favor because 1/10th cars can't run well on a track with ruts that are no problem for 1/8th cars so they need separate tracks. On a well groomed/watered track 1/10th staduim trucks could be a lot of fun but nobody wants to do the work when 4wd 1/8th cars don't need it.

I don't know Dave ..

I use to think it was dieing because the class suffers on big outdoor tracks ...
Now I only believe its just a size thing ...

Make a bigger version because that's what the public demands right now.
also
Bet you 1/8th Gt-2 would be faster than the 4w 1/8ths on the bumps & jumps and cost less, more fun, ect...

2wd with a nitro powerplant is tough to drive on any surface, they're just getting back to 2wd nitro on-road in europe. There's a guy that run's a 4-stroke .26 in a 1/10th stadium truck that looks a lot more promising because it's tractable.

4wd nitro's weigh 8lb because that's what it takes to make them hold together.

Back in the day, we used to groom tracks to be more loamy becuase the rubber sucked (Family Hobbies in Vineland, NJ were the kings of this) so the tracks stayed relatively smooth. Cars were a lot less powerful too so they stayed on the ground a little better too.

I have been racing against "Thumper" trucks for several years , I don't think a 4-stroke motor will make the 1/10th truck all that more desirable ..

Not trying diss the 4-stroke tech as it does offer a lot of possibilities ...

The size of chassis is the thing , a bigger 2w that is lighter , with lots of suspension travel would be most likely be the future for outdoor off-road .

I been predicting this for many years already...

Just a matter of time before somebody builds one.....

That company that has the vision ?

Will be making history in our sport...

apologies
I guess I'm off topic here , Indoor 1/10 gas truck is still a blast , yet no one is racing the class hardly at all with the bigger 1/8th class being so popular...

That's why I say it time for a bigger 2w ...

BDW Dave , I have heard the 4 stoke is smoother, but you need to try my Gt-2 with CvR & a smoothie. May just change your mind how smooth & electric like feel a good 2 stroke can be ...

My Losi XXXNT with OS .12CV engine will run 12mins+ stock tank easily.
1/10 scale nitro stadium truck lost it's popularity because people think bigger
is aways better hence the monster truck/w 4wdr (easier to drive) now the
truggy.

If track owner's would Push and Promote the class I think it would eventually
come back. It use to be the biggest class in off-road racing. They are alot
faster than the Slash!
