Angry MY RC nitro car cuts out when throttle is applied

hello everyone

i have a kyosho inferno mp-6 sports which is a nitro buggy
the engine in it is a GS21R and i am having a few problems with it
originally it was working fine and then the thread on the needle valve died so i bought another 1 from kyosho same model and fitted it and turned it 2 and a half turns (the correct amount of turns needed for the engine to run properly)
it then kept starting for like 10 seconds and then cutting out my dad had a look at it and adjusted the air/fuel mixture adjustment screw now it ticks over fine and will run on tick over until it runs out of fuel but when ever throttle is pressed down and the hole opens it cuts out??

very strange

can anyone help me with this problem?

thanks

tom

I'm fairly new to nitro, but I was having the same problem. It's called a flame-out. I believe, if the mixture is too rich slightly, the carb builds up with fuel while the car is sitting still, then when you apply the gas, it rushes all the fuel into the motor, and it basically suffocates the motor, causing it to stall or "flame" out. Keep high revving the motor a lot before you run to "clean" it out, and maybe lean out your mixture a bit. Like I said, I'm fairly new to nitro, but it sounds like the problem I was having.

Smile thank you

thanks guys for all your responses and so quickly

me and my dad have fixed the problem thanks to your help and the engine instruction manual

turns out that we where running it way to rich as we could see by the liquid form fuel which was coming out of the egsaust so we fiddled around with the carb to get it just right and now it will throttle from tick over to fully open with out even stuttering

i shall try it out on the skiddy roads tomorrow and tell you what happened

thanks everyone

just remember to tune it to how it sounds/runs. dont get married to a temp gun.

i suggest the trinity 'nitro tuning' book to help you in understanding your engine and making your rc experience in the future a fun 1 for yourself and ur dad.

this coming from an 'electric guy'.
