For a Truggy...
Step 1 - Swap side guards for 1.0 version as they are taller
Step 2 - Balloon around receiver (if it will all fit back in the box!)
Step 3 - Blue tack around seams on radio box.

Can be repeated for battery if required.

After 5 weekends of rain I'm getting the hang of it.....

Whoops forgot about air filter

That's because I run outerwears 100% of the time, rain or dust

They wont keep you running underwater but a quick splash will not soak your foam and trash an engine.

I have run on astro turf that just been brushed off with standing puddles and the odd shallow lake on the infields and traction was the only issue whilst skimming across the water.

Pics like this show conditions.

I'm not sure if you can get taller sides, but the body helps for that.
Everything else is the same.

Check Ebay for cheaper filter covers;)

$17 bucks is cheap compared to a new engine!

what about the servos coz some r kinda waterproof but some r not? i have a savox and a futaba servos how could i waterproof them?

Charles Godwin 12-14-2009 09:47 AM

Servos i personally don't worry to much about them. Reciever box i put one of those silica gel packs (ones you get in packaging) in and run a bead of silicone around the box seals and where the wires go through into the box ;) . Cut a old tyre and ream a few holes in the shell and old tyre and put cover where the fuel tank is. You only need about 2 screws. Help with spray getting on the airfilter.

what about if i was to use an off cut from my bodyshell like thishttp://www.rc411.com/howtos/148/sb02.jpg
but i dont want to screw anything to the bodyshell is there any other way?

The Working Man 12-15-2009 02:22 AM

Simple. Get the duct tape and go wild.

Charles Godwin 12-15-2009 10:35 AM

Yea you could use duct tape but in the heat of the moment of re-fueling it might be more robust to use screws. I usually just use a old shell with the tyre thingy ;)

lewis666 12-16-2009 08:37 AM

i might be going racing tomorrow night so it is going to be cold so should i wrap my engine in tin foil? if so how many fins on the cooling head should i cover?
