Default starter box lipo info

Can some one tell me why I can get Two 14.8v lipos or 1 for under $30 new on ebay but my local hobby shop and even A-Main wants $100. Has any one used the Ebay batteries. Thanks

You should ask Tom and Earnest but my guess would be the ones on eBay will probably light your car/garage/house and town on fire within 2 weeks or dump out so fast they ate useless

these have VERY low C rating and will not be sufficient for a starter box.....Rx and Tx packs are where Lower C number's are ok.

how much do you want to spend ? the $ value will determine how many Mah you can get for the dollar.

There has to be more to it than that. One guy sells a battery for $30 and makes a profit and the other sells the same battery with a different label fir $100.aybe I'm in the wrong business. I know a couple of guys at SRS have tried a Zippy and had meltdowns but it could have been user error both times. The bottom line fir me looking at this whole thing as a businessman is that there would have to be some differences otherwise the guy selling the batteries for 75% cheeper would bury all his competitors. I am glad you have good luck with them. I'll stick to my NH and gel cells thank you very muchy skills don't merit lipo power or lipo dangers

Default bat

The C rate is not what I was asking because I can get 15C all the way to 45C for under $30 to my door so I guess I am going to try it. It is just going in my starter box so I can't see spending $70 to $100 for a starter box battery. I dont run electric so I have no clue about lipos but I have one of the $70 batteries in my Ofna Truggy box and I love it. I think the Ebay batteries will work great in the starter box, it's not like it is in the car taking a beating + I know alot of people that use the cheep ebay Lipo charger, the one in the case with the fan with good luck.

Ive ran Ebay lipo's for more then a couple year's with nothing but great results.....i would however suggest Marcus that you dont go any lower then 20C for the starter box....your box motor's will thank you in the long run.

I bought some cheapo ebay 14.8v lipos and didn't have any luck with them. I got maybe a couple of cycles out of them before they started to swell. I did the same thing 2 for $60 shipped. 4000mah. They were not the ones that you have pictured, but the construction on them was garbage. I will never do that again. Just my .02

I'm beating the living snot out of my Zippys. Complete abuse. but I'm running the correct batteries for my applications. And they are performing flawlessly.

Its nice not having nightmares about my maxamps/smc/reedy/orion packs puffing.

4000mah Zippy 2s 30c hardcases in my Slash/Sc10 (17.5)/B4 (13.5).
5000 mah Zippy softcase 4s1p in my ofna truggy box.

Got one $5 500mah Rx pack to puff by dropping it on concrete.
