i would say Nova engines have a longer lifespan. well, many would suggests tons of engines, and they are all right because many engines out there are great engines, i would recommend the Plus4 or the P5XLT.

cheers

One of my ninja's chunked a rod after 12 gallons: not to bad for engine life

Wished I could run both right now

I have ran the ninja and a AB modded ninja.

Currently have both motors, but since I live on Colorado, I will not get to run my plus 4C until the Nitro Challenge in Febuary.

It will be a few months, but I will be able to run these motors in the same truck, at the same track, on the same day. Hope to find out which motor I prefer

I have both and I much preffer the Ninja over the +4. It is much more drivable with a killer top end. The +4 is a great engine, don't get me wrong. I got 12 gallons out of mine before it tossed a rod, but it is very expensive to rebuild. Th +4 has a LOT of bottom end, if you are not very easyon the throttle down low you will be spinning the tires a lot. The Ninja has a great bottom end (but not like the +4), but it is more linear and drivable to me.

I've always been told the Plus 4 is smoother. That's interesting.

Yeah I think it is smoother. I know my +4 was. Ninja is much more powerful. Unless it is a Toro Nero

I own both and love them both but when set up the same I have to say that the ninja has way more bottom end punch. I would say that the ninja is better for a truggy and the +4 is better for a buggy. IMO

that really depends on pipe choice. 9853 makes the plus4 really snappy and thats what i drive. 9901 makes the plus4 really smooth on the bottom and a couple of my friends run that pipe. there is a lot of difference between these two pipes!

yes, 9901 is more popular than 9853, but it depends on the track and driving style as well

I am looking for the right pipe combo with low end.

Do others agree with the 9853 for low end ? I have been told that the 9901 would be the best overall choice, but want to find more punch in the low end

sorry for hi-jacking the topic.....

i have about 2.5 - 3 gallons on it now and i feel it has really found that sweet spot. great mileage with a 9853 and 41005 header and odonnell 97t. i see no reason why i won't get 10 gallons or more out of it.

If you're coming out for nitro challenge in feb, get a 53 super strong. everyone in az runs them (including me). 53 = more top 9901 = more bottom and mileage. +4 gets better mileage, ninja has more power..........now choose
