I raced at 10 different tracks this year, including Hobby Hut several times. Electric 1/8 was popular no where. There was 5 or 6 of those things at the last Barnstormers race. Thats enough to get em out into there own class and leave the other 30 nitro buggies.

Nitro will always be here. Remember it replaced electric. I love nitro buggy. A case lasts a while even racing every weekend. I love seeing electric cars fry, short out and die. It's cheating for the electric cars to be in our racing. Go get your own class.

like i was saying i think in about 2 to 3 or more years there maybe be a
seprate class for them,but for offroad nitro is so much better,i dont mind
racing againest them when theres about 2 of them cause the ones,i seen
they just wreck a lot most of the time cause they do dam fast and quick.
now one magazine i do like though is extreme xrc r/c mag cause they
have a good amount of nitro still as for the others u lost me.

I think nitro will always be here just because people like the sound and the tuning part.

But I do think it's funny how some nitro people think it's hard to balance and charge a pack and think it's alot of work. I mean, how hard is it to plug a balance lead into a slot and then a power lead. LOL The charger or what ever you do does it for you. Then all you have to do is set the Low voltage cutoff in the speed control. Another 5 second one time ordeal.

Electric in the past few years has jump leaps and bounds. I don't see why nitro won't as well in the next few years. That's not to say there is no area's the electric can't work on. Weight and the chassis balancing can be worked on. It is getting better in the fact companies are coming out with vehicles designed electric based and not a nitro chassis converted to electric.

i agree with u on the nitro,i used to do electric so i know about the
balanceing the battries and setting up the speed controlers i much
rather just get a flat head to tune the engine than having a computer
around on the track to change my settings if i dont like the throttle curve
etc and i know theres a lot of guys who dont want to that,and yea the
1/8 electric are a pound heavyer than the 1/8 nitro buggy .

We're in the winter, of course the magazines are going to start covering more electric stuff because it's the indoor season. When spring comes around, you will see more nitro again.

i was starting to think about that electric whould show up more in magizines
during the winter ,yea i think there will be more nitro show o n the mags in
spring time. the best mag i like though is the xtreme r/c magizine cause theres a lot of nitro reviews in stuff in it

i picked a guy eight that was electric he had two battries on one side
and i know a magnet is pretty heavy his was a lot heavyer then my nitro
eight the most people that i know of that have a electric 1/8 has two
battries cause they said its to expensive to have just 1

Tekno set-up's are Notoriously heavy due to the dinner plate sized chassis+ mechanical brakes.

i dont know i dont run lipos and i whouldnt trust ordering overseas anyway
thats just me though, for some reason they running 2 lipos thats were 2 cell

i belive the 3 guys that i seen that have electric 1/8 have the losi conversion
kit i belive but it felt a lot more heavyer to me than my nitro 1/8 eight

i enjoy running both nitro and electric offroad. i run my buggy and truggy in the summer and my electric 2 and 4 wheel in the winter. nitro offroad is huge in the summer months, with quality races attracting 100-300 entries almost every weekend. there are a few big must hit electric races in the summer, and the same for nitro in the winter.

racing both, electric is alot easier to tune and maintain and the racing is very good. However i think nitro will have a appeal for a while longer because of the longer mains, refueling, time to come back from early mistakes, ect.

i think the r/c mags. are showing more electric besause of the time of the year, and the explosion of quality lipo and brushless ecs/motors. at a cheap price.

i think you will see nitro come back like always in the summer.
well i hope so because 1/10th outdoors is no fun.
