Default Taping Wheel Foams

Does anybody here tape wheel foams to stop the balooning effect at High RPMs? If so, do you do it to any of the higher end tires like the Proline VTRs or LPRs?

Tc5 man, I'm not the best at grammar or spelling, but your posts are very hard to understand. For as much as you post, the least you could do is proofread and use punctuation.....just a thought.

As far as taping foam inserts, I think its a bad idea. Over time the tape could work free and could cause an unbalanced wheel. If you are having problems with "ballooning'' tires, you should try LPR tires and/or AKA foam.

and you dont tape the foam...
you turn the tire inside out and put two wraps of duct tape around the inner tire... the rubber is what balloons not the foam.

You're right it is the tire you tape. Now I remember. Anyway what do you think about taping?

but if you have an mt or soemthing or mtr/mt tires they do need it as they are a bigger/wider wire.

ok then I'll buy the LPRs and VTRs with rims that way I don't have to mess with glue. What do you do? Do you buy the rims and tires seperate? Do you put holes in the rim or the tire for drainage and breatheability? Do you try to salvage rims or just say f-it and throw the whole lot away?

Do you do it to Proline Tires VTRs and LPRs? Do you punch holes in the tires?

i will put holes in the tires if i find i need them after running them to see. so far i haven't needed them and don't want to put holes in them as i would just get crap inside to tire. i have don't this to GRP and VP Pro tires not proline Yet but it is the same process.

My stock XTT tires have clumps of dirt in them btween the foam and the tire. They weigh alot now and are completely out of balance. Losi put the holes in the rim and I dunk them in water when i clean them. I guess I probably shouldn't dunk them in water.
How do you guys clean your tires?

step 1
remove tire from rim(doesn't have to be both sides)

step 2
roll the tire over the layed out tape

step 3
place foam back in

step 4
glue and run

easy
this was just a demo. you should take your time taking the tire off the rim and make sure everthing is clean.
