i keep it running on a shoe string, anyone else?
i keep my car running on a shoe string, i dont buy new parts, i "improvise"
so far this is what i have:
front servo is hot glued on(the plastic all broke)
slipper clutch is not a slipper clutch anymore, its drilled together,
my starter motor is from a cheaply radio shack car,
my one way nut on the engine is broken so it slips both ways,
the engine blocks casting it broken so jb weld holds the starter to it, and i just push it sideways to get the one way nut to turn the engine over(its hard to explain but some of you might get it)
my engine mounts are stripped so i used red loctite and jb weld to hold the block to the frame,
the front struts are broken so i used coat hanger wire, and hot glue instead,
but all in all the darn car still works! half the fun is fixing it!
obviously if you race competitively then you do it the right way but for me, i just enjoy driving it at the park, its a traxxas stampede, with a 0.15 on it,
so is anyone out there like me? please do tell!!

I am guilty of half of that on my tmaxx. My racing gear gets maintained but my MT gets thrashed hard. Only new thing I can think to add is the super long sheet metal screw longways holding together the shattered a-arm. And broken rims? who cares run em anyways the spoked part is still together on 3 of the 5 and it goes.

my starter is held on by one bolt, and i twist the hole thing while the electric motor is on to engage it to start it, oh and ps that electric motor shoots sparks out of it and smokes if i leave it running for more than 10 seconds, and smells bad, and makes a squeeeeeeeek sound,
oh gota love Popsicle sticks, they do alot more than hold a Popsicle!
thats how the engine is held on, its like a jb weld, but cheaper, and white foamy,
look at my wiring, i used scotch tape(i had no electrical tape left)
there, happy!
sorry my camera is garbage,
