Talking Home Made Truggy.

Hi everyone. Just wanted to share a one off piece of history. A local racer took what I believe to be a Kyosho MP 7.5 and machined a bunch of pieces to make a truggy before they were available. I believe the GS storm SUT was out, but HB LSP was not released yet. He only ran it for one race and parked it. Eventually he gave it away and it made it's way into my hands. I've given it life again and plan to run it in the winter. Waterproofed some decent electronics and installed them, modified some motor mounts and dropped in a Novarossi .28, and fitted an old REVO body to it. Also did some other repairs it required.

I beg to differ; that is a proline 2 stage with outerwears "sock". I'm hoping the outerwears will repell snow/water. Thanks for the compliment though!

Ya, I think it could stand to have a few holes drilled in it if the guy takes the time.... There's ZERO flex right now. I think if I abuse it bad enough it'll pull the screws out of the diff housings.

I didn't cut it. The guy who built it hand machined the chassis, center brace and supports, shock towers, servo tray, throttle/brake "tower", raised center diff mounts and engine mount plates. I removed those plates and modified some HB stadium mounts to mount this engine/roto application.

I think it about 60+ spur gear due to buggy diffs and monster truck wheels.

that's one pretty intense build, that's the kind of stuff that makes me wish I had access to a mill, I would love to crank out some custom stuff like that. check out that laydown throttle linkage and fuel tank pull. nice.

Talking

Thanks everyone! I wish I could take credit for it, but it was another guy. He gave up on it and let it go with all the stuff to put it back to buggy. I couldn't resist and keep the truggy alive. I have plenty of truggies, just feel something that has this much work put into it should be kept alive. Posting it here payed homage I beleive.

Default More pics.

I figured since there is so much appreciation for this guy's work, I'd post a couple more pics. Dig the extended shaft! and those milled out areas in the chassis!
