yea nitro has a more mantice but not a whole lot more really ,u clean the filter and oil it and take the clutchbell off and clean the built up off and check the bearings as for tuning i say we all had to learn but its not hard to do for a new guy only turn the needles a little at a time thats it espially on the touchy itatian engines and just get a air compresser and simple green and blast off the fuel and dirt, its up to u though if you want electric but i think u will have more fun and a rush with a nitro and later on you can convert it to electric i would wait a another year or more cause i think thats when the brushless electric stuff will get cheaper if u want to do that.as for though il keep runnning nitro .

IF your cleaning and maintaining your buggy or truggy. Dirt is dirt. No matter how much. I clean them after every use. Totally disassemble and clean them helps also to teach you about your vehicle.

One big difference between cleaning a nitro car and an electric car, is the spilled nitro from refuelling. If your pit man is in a hurry, it sure makes for a lot of cleaning... But apart from that, cleaning is the same between the 2 cars.

From what I've noticed, most electric inclined guys find the tuning part of a nitro to be the biggest issue. It doesn't matter how many times you show them that its not difficult, it only takes 1 person's poorly tuned vehicle to make the electric guys go "See, that's why I don't want a nitro!"

I've come to realise that it's pretty much impossible to convince electric guys that nitro is not difficult.

true lol i think they think that they have to tune the engines all the time ,and they proberty make the mistake of big too big of turns on the needles when u only need to do it little at a time,i know what u mean about pit guys spilling fuel on your car thats why fuel guns and tank pullers are good

With the electric speed controls and computers needed to program them. I will just take my screwdriver please. Besides the speedcontrols are more expensive than the engine in my buggy.

and also some speedos are unrelible and i seen 2 of them catch on fire with the lipos in it during a race thank god i did hit the guy cause it would be very ugly ,i like to have a engine that runs and its reblible and not catch on fire when im racing yea i much rather tune with a screwdriver to do changes than bringing a computer to consudly figure out what drive i like, by at least the rc8 truggy is built better than the oringal rc8 buggy

I agree with going nitro, the biggest reason i didnt want electric was because of all the soldering, i have seen so many electric buggies and truggies not make it through the first lap because the solder breaks. if your good at soldering then you wont have an issue. I really think a blind chimp could solder better then me.

i used to do electric and soldering just sucks and its nasty for u im ok at soldering but have had solder joints break when im racing and i seen guys who convered there monster trucks have solder breaks, and also electric is to quiet espially brushless motors and its gets boring except slash that doest count since nitro guys drive them

What do you guys think would be a good starter engine and pipe for a first time nitro guy for the RC8t!!

Also does everybody pretty much use starter boxes to fire up your engines???

i would say a nova .21 bf 3 port has prently of power for a truggy i think
i recommend a dynamite 86 pipe its a high speed pipe trust me it will work
as for starter boxes i heard that the ofna truggy box is good i use a losi eight box on my eight ,the novas are tight when new so if u have a heat gun use it before u start to break it in on every tank u do this and if u need help ask us or your hobby store even though i know how they are sometimes, as for servos i use a team orion dignal servo that has 138 oz of torque but they do have one that has 278oz of torque and its $100 and they are good quality servos there good as for the throttle servo u can get a analog servo but i would get atleast a little over 100 oz for braking u can get a dingal but its not nessary, also take your time and be patiece, even know guys will tell u to go with hitec servos ha

From what I can see it looks to have everything the LE has with the addition of Jconcepts Body/Wing & Tires.
