Default Which truggy should I get?

Heya,
I'm looking to buy a truggy roller to make electric. So far, the only ones I've looked at and am able to buy are:

Hong Nor/Jammin/Ofta X1 CRT - 90

and

Hot Bodies Lightning Stadium 2 Pro - 100

I've already been told that RC-Monster has the parts to convert the HBLS to brushless, but i'm not sure about the CRT.

I plan on running the MMM 2200 combo on 6s in there - I don't race, only bash, and i'd like to try and achieve 70+mph with speed runs.

Has anyone had any experience with either of these two truggies?

Many thanks for any advice given!

Take a look at the Caster Racing F8T Race Roller. You don't have to convert anything. Its setup electric for you already. There is even a RTR and PRO KIT version available.

What he said. It may actually be cheaper than a used truck + conversion stuff... and the Caster stuff is underrated. They are "ground up" electric designs, not a thrown together conversion- VERY nicely engineered.

However, back to your question. I used to run the Jammin. Good, tough truck, outdated compared to newer designs, but still a solid truck. It won't turn with the newer ones, and uses an enormous spur gear with buggy gearing in the front and rear... that raises the CG slightly.

I have no experience with the HB but I've heard pretty good things about it. I would probably pick the HB between those 2.

caster design is nothing that great. split packs do not allow balanced car as motor on on side is 10+oz (almost 14 in case of tekin t8)

battery weight at the rear hampers steering

rc-monster has motor mounts for probably all standard cars as well battery mounts

rc-monster parts make very well balanced car

If you are going electric than there are a couple of MFG's out there that will accommodate any truck that you get. Tekno is one. As for the truggys I currently like 3. Losi 8t 2.0, Mugen mbx6t and AE rc8T. These trucks perform very well at the track and are always in the winners circle at the main stream events. Stick with what works.
