Personally, I think the whole issue is heat. Heat being caused by location, rather than running with or w/o a reg, or heat caused by being too close to the reg if used. As noted in an earlier post, I have run all summer w/o a reg. In the Mugen buggy, the Rx is as far as possible away from any real source of heat, so I think that has helped. I'd be very interested in hearing from those that have had failures, and what arrangement they used...ie, how close to the engine is the Rx, did they run with a reg and if so, was it next to the Rx?
