Not sure if this has been posted yet..

But.. if the current batch of truggy bodies are banned.. does that also meen we cant run rear buggy wings on truggies either..

i dont remember seeing any Real truggys or Trucks with huge wings on the back of them

what about the wheels.. are they going to make us run smaller wheels too.. as i dont remember seing any truggys or trucks with wheels and tires that are the sdame scale as what we run now.

I think if they ban the bodies.. they have to ban everything.. and as i have read.. we may as well run slashes.

As a newb to nitro rc, the only real difference I see in the new bodies is the overall height and shape. How can you limit the shape? Which brings me to my next observation, could it have more to do with the fact that some of the new bodies don't cover the rear shock tower?

In the 1:1 and RC rockcrawling world I am more familier with, truggy means something entirely different...and much slower.

Nevermind, sounds like a rumor after reading the entire thread.

one question i have is, do you think the motor will receive adequate air flow? the old bodies has a proper scaled windscreen and you cut 1/3 of it away so air can reach the head and also for the air filter. with these new ones you would have to cut away something like 3/4 just to get the same amount of air flow...

correct me if I'm wrong..

not to mention the new bodies look space age and the designers should stay off the cocaine...

Definitely wrong on this one. On the losi body, the only hole in the front window is the hole for the fuel tank pull. There is a hole in the top for a fuel gun, which you cut, and a hole in the side window for the fuel bottle. The motor gets all of its air from air coming over the body, and has been shown to lower head temps by 5 degrees.

Yea. Thats why the Jconcept body works so well, and the new proline body has the same effect, but looks a ton better.

If looks has nothing to do with it, then the next thing will to allow stretched buggy bodies to be used instead of bodies that resemble a truck. There has to be a limit set before it does get out of control. This is where I think ROAR is attempting to go by allowing the MFG's to get together to define what the limit should be.

This topic will be irrelavent if (for instance) all the MFG's agree to make the roof line 1/4" taller and when mounted be parallel with the chassis. By the time a rule is put into place(if it comes to that, the current body styles will be outdated and not one will have them anymore anyway.

Goto page 49 here http://www.roarracing.org/downloads/..._Rule_Book.pdf

This envolves 1/10 electric truck(which also does not resemble a "REAL" race truck.

This is just my opinion.
Sounds just like the Losi 2.0 body. Front grill, windshields, roll bar bed
