The ones from TKO seem to vary the outer diameter by having thicker walls, instead of bigger balls (nova)

Just wondering..

Anyone tried Acer ceramic engine bearings?
Good price on them now so i bought front and rear bearings for my JX21.
Wanted to get some opinions b4 i replace the bearings.

I've received the bearings, front looks okay but doubts about the rear one.
The seal on the non-open end is kinda flimsy, does not sit right.
Able to move it around with my fingers.

One question, is it necessary for the rear bearing seal to be there?
I didn't think so cos imo the seal does not serve any purpose..
Thought of removing the seal b4 I pop it into the engine.

Any comments?

No reason whatsoever to have the rear bearing seal. The bearing is not keeping anything in or out. I know racers that remove the seal and run the rear bearing without a seal. So ok to remove as far as I am concerned.

Thanks FrankL for the quick reply..
Guess I'll take out the seal b4 installing the Acer bearing.
Now it's the durability question..

I'm baffled, I've received mine 2 weeks ago and there's no seal at all on all the 3 main bearing I bought ??(which should be the case)

Oi, what you doing here? So much free time no need to work huh?

My Acer rear bearing has the seal on one side just like in the pics..

But I doubt there's any use for it so will take out the seal.

Yo, that's part of the peek ball-cage to hold and space out the balls. You better leave them alone otherwise all the balls will roll to one side or drop out. This part is supposed to face the front with the balls facing rear. That's why you can't see this part in the original bearing looking into the engine crankcase and thought it's a seal.

Now I know why your nick is n.e.r.d !

Is that thing part of the cage?
If it is, then why is it movable left right and center when the cage is only rotating with the balls?

Nevermind, we'll discuss further when we meet up. Don't wanna hijack this thread..
