AkA Tires
Hi Just got a losi 8ight rtr and am looking for a good all around practice tire that will hold up and last a while before I start a spring race season. Does the med aka compound noticably outlast the soft? City blocks or I beams? Sorry for the Noob question, Thanks....871

yes the meduim compound will outlast the soft and usally will grip enough on the dirt inless its really dry , the soft ones do last longer than most soft compund tires it depends on how u drive also. the i beams in the rear or pretty good the city blocks in the front are good also

i would use the stockers as practice tires, and get a set of soft cityblocks, or what ever tire is the hot setup at your track.

I'm fairly new but have been driving the AKA tires almost exclusively. I run both the "City Beam" and the "Cross Beam" combination depending on the track conditions.
In my limited experience with the tracks down in the south is the three AKA tires in medium (I-Beam, City Blocks, Cross Braces) and combinations of the three will cover a lot of your needs.

Soft Ibeams
Soft Gridirons
Hard Gridirons
That will cover all bases decently.

This past year I bought a set of hard compound city blocks for both my buggy and truggy. Great practice tires if that is what your looking for. I have so many hours on them but they went good all season. I will defiantly buy another set for next year to do the same. The best part is there is never a track condition they are bad on they are always at least decent.
