give them both credit....

Richard made the jump and drove away on the video, and so did Adam on a couple times. Let us know when you get one that fast and that far to begin with and drive it away.

It's meant to be fun for the people who support the cars. To show you guys just how tough they are.

Yeah the last time he did break it, i think it is virtually impossible to land it with no bounce when your at those speeds and height.

Cool On road engine

not tried it with one so not sure i know an on road car would be better for speed but i dread to think of what it will look like when it lands.

Adams car had a couple other modifications you haven't listed yet. yes he was running the truggy chassis he was also using a Mario Rossi tuned GRP 28 and optional gearing from the Losi L8 oval car. and I totally agree for the distance to count the has to land on it's wheels and de able to drive back.

Good luck achieving your goal, and check out NEO BUGGY, they just posted 2 videos of RC CAR trying there own long jumo challenge.

This is the car you have right?

http://www.nitrotek.co.uk/2HPB8.htm

So, you say you went 117 feet with a $337 HBX Chinese Clone buggy and the included pull-start engine?

I like how it says it includes aditional shock spacers which is an option part on most buggies, to achieve a winning setup when the fuel tank is 150cc!

Yes it was that car, i have the pro version not as tho the extra carbon fibre bits make that much of a difference but none the less it was that car i used.

Its not suitable for the world record jump but its good car to practice with the gear ratio on Richard Saxton's buggy is 4.30:1

As the vrx is 11.69 : 1

Hey Alan. What car are you using this year?

I have one that would probably win, but I really don't want to destroy it.

Default Pavement to grass

I jumped my mini E-Revo from pavement to grass yesterday off a 3 foot ramp and went approximately 75 feet (paced it off) and drove away. It bounced when it landed but did not flip. I wasn't even going full speed (I was going about 45 when I hit it) I am going to try it on 3 S lipo next weekend (about 70 mph) and see how far I can go.
So if jumping into grass would count, I think jumping as far as 175 -200 feet would be possible provided you could get the ramp right and could go in the neighborhood of 80 mph which is very possible

I wasn't discrediting either. I spoke to Drake about his long jump while my son and I talked with him at RCX last year and he said the conditions weren't perfect for his jump and he thought he could have gone even farther. I know those jumps were driven away from and that they were done in a controlled manner. I just laugh at some who "crash" at a long distance and call it a "jump"

I don't think anyone can expect to land a jump on it's wheels and not roll or crash. I think the ideal situation is to have a landing ramp. You don't see motocross jumpers going for a record jump to land flat do you?
