Default Why are truggies so ugly?

Seriously, What are these things supposed to look like?

Just when I thought they couldn't get uglier, now people are puttin headlight decals on them as if they actually looked like a truck.

Someone on here once said something along the lines: "Truggy races look like a bunch of Mars rovers haveing a seizure." Completely ingenious.

Wouldn't a giant Slash/SCT body be the cats meow for these things?

Or maybe a form fitting shell that deosn't have windows? so that truggies look like what they actually are.....a truggy, not a little truck, not a deformed scale model of a F150, not a Dune/desert Beetle with 44 inch tires.

Kind of how ugly stick model airplanes look like ugly sticks and not real planes.

hmmm big ass bodies that catch a ton of air, yeah that will catch on in the larger scale nitro classes. About as well as jumbo kongs

ZD, you would sacrifice performance over looks? Give me a body no matter how it looks (but still legal), to get that extra .5-2secs anytime.

Bingo! My point exactly.

Make a body based for performance only. no windows, fake headlights, etc.
I've seen a few homemade buggy bodies with no windows and they looked awesome! It looked like an RC race car instead of a real bad scale model that gets raced.

Either go scale (Slash), or go performance only. This middle ground stuff looks horrible.

How could the rear wing generate any low to medium speed down force with such a lumpy un aero body in front of it.

I like the way truggies look, sure they dont lok scale at all, but there are other classes for that.

A good paint job goes a long way.

the new body styles are to actually resemble a truck(arena truck)with bed i believe. arena truck races are about like a big bashing race. still takes skill but get way more slack. there also cool cause you can throw tons of engine in them to race(still 21 but more torque and power), kind of like the new hillbilly mountain truck. iv had my new 2.0 for a couple months now and drove it 5 tanks. guess im just waiting for a big race.

The jConcepts punisher body is AWESOME looking. I like the new style of truggy bodies like the MBX6T and 8ight 2.0t, and the punisher body. SC trucks are ugly as sin though. I like to go fast but its always nice to have that bling factor too.

This kind of stuff happens all the time when you inbreed. Mixing a buggy and a monster truck seems kind of like f***ing your sister. That child is going to look weird and have strange deformities and probably mental issues unlike a normal human being.

Doesn't mean it isn't going to haul ass.

Perhaps one needs to know what a full scale truggy looks like to have an opinion as to what they should look like. Seems everyone has forgotten they're running scale models Truggies are a hybrid using technology from Class 1 and Trophy Truck.

Terrible Herbst truggy:

I'll agree though, the Mugen and Losi truggies are some of my least favorite bodies right now (and my two favorite vehicles at this point).

I like the mugen 6T body.. actually looks like a truck along with the questionable D8T body

Jconcepts punisher, Losi 2.0 look like someone ran a toyota pickup into a wall.

The proline shift 2.0 looks nice

Truggies are hideous. They are what they are because it seems that there are no rules that dictate what they should look like. In fact (and after looking at the pic of a real truggy), I am certain that you could show up at a race with an extended buggy body and be allowed to copete with it.
