I heard that he was running his old Tunder Tiger last weekend at the FSORS race. Assuming that is true, he spanked everyone event with a car that is over 6 years old in design.

Says something about the car design or his abilities. I think it is the latter.

the team magic car was just a test car he doesnt run for them but you are head on with the fact that we are pretty lucky to have some one as approachable and willing to help as he is.

dude sit down with billy and talk a little setup...you will be amazed at how detail oriented he is.. and he is taking great pride in how this car comes out so i would be willing to bet that when it is out it is going to be pretty darn good

just spoke with Rep from Serpent ( had a complaint about my 733) any way, all Im going to say is MISINFORMED. No release date for buggy I am told because the are still testing. They have no contact with Durango who designed the first prototype of the 1/8 buggy. They broke ties and Durango took the buggy. At this time the buggy and truggy is being looked into. this info was just told to my by Serpent.

I got the answers I was looking for thanks guys

as stated before, that is the old 'durango' project. Since they left Serpent and took the buggyproject there are no pics of the 'new' Serpent buggy (in progress).

Headline News : Serpent's 1/8 Buggy
Posted by Admin on 2009/10/29 17:34:03 (104 reads)

We received an email from Serpent today, which seemed a little hastily put together...
"Hello RC Press, ... Serpent 1/8 buggy:
we will start releasing some initial info on the Serpent 1/8 buggy in next 2 weeks, so will keep you posted .... -- "

Former World Champ Billy Easton is the designer of the buggy, a project Gerd Strenge (of Durango) was previously involved in last year before splitting. It seems Easton was only involved as the designer; his ties with Serpent severed when the car design was delivered. It will be interesting if Serpent (in its new form) can make the successful transition from an out and out 'on road' company to off road - something few companies have tried and fewer succeeded at.
The question is, can the Serpent buggy bring something new, exciting and different to this market ?
We spoke to Billy Easton who was unable to discuss the designs until after the car is released, however he did say, "At this time though I am very happy with the design and think that the end user will also be."
What do you think?

Hehe.

When I started racing in 1985, I drove Serpent Cobra:

Some years later you could buy a body called Javelin, if I remember correct:

In 1988 I could affort a new buggy. Of course my choise was Serpent Spirit:

Things has changed since then

the cobra? lol good luck to serpent, tough market 1/8 nitro offroad. times are thin and the high dollar ae/losi ads/r&d/paid drivers are hard to beat.
