I have one (ofna chrome top) and the only inconvenient is the weight!
Another good starter is the starter box from LRP..

Hey I sent you a PM and I think I misread your post sorry. I would go with the ofna truggy starter box with a 4s lipo. It will be overkill for your AE truck but it will start anything

Frank, the truggy starter will not work on a 1/10th gas truck, the starter wheel would have to run lengthwise with the box in order to do so, the ofna box can't be adjusted to that position.

This is a popular box for 10th scale, and I know a few people that love these for 8th scale as well if you ever need it for that.

I use the Kyosho 2.0 starter box for my Losi 8ight T . It works great . The wheel assembly can be turned to run both ways . But I couldn't tell you if it could work for your application . I put a duratrax power panel in it and the gel cel makes it hefty , but a lipo or two would solve that problem . It has a slightly smaller wheel to help with the smaller flywheel opening on the Losi 8ights . Reasonable priced too . It is slightly narrower than the wide chrome tops . I think it would work good for the 1/10th scales .
