Questions?? Truggy Tire Question

Do they make a tire/wheel combo for truggies that are narrower than the typical truggy wheel/tires? I was at a race a few weeks ago and thought I saw some tires on a truggy that were say between a Buggy tire and a Truggy tire width wise. I didn't find it in the pits so I couldn't check them out to be sure.

Not that I have ever seen. But it is not to hard to modify a tire to make something that way. I have seen many people do it for 1/10th scale and crawling.

But I don't think that you could make a tire that would hold up in 1/8th scale racing....... But maybe ????

they weren't lower profile they were narrower. They looked about a 1/2 narrower. Wish I could of found it and looked at them up close. I was marshalling and noticed them as it was going around and thought "I want some of them for my truck!"

Mike Kendell is a local pro and I have seen him trim truggy tires down. The only kind I have seen him do are proline holeshots he cuts down the inside beads and then uses a penny and glues them back together I have never seen them come apart during a race. He is one of the fastest guys I have ever seen with a truggy and I am not kinding its insane.

Might of been cut but it's hard to say. It was a losi 2.0 T I know that. I notice they run 3.7 tire/rim setup but isn't that the diameter?

The lowest profile tire that I know of is the Komodo Dragon LP from Panther. You want low profile
And very narrow, they are the tire you want. They are kind of like running wheels with tread on
Them.

Thanks, I'll look into them. I'm not really looking for low profile, but something a little narrower. Atleast for the front. Figure it would turn a little better in the corners.

Maybe it was the new Proline VTR truggy tires. They are thinner than the normal truggy tires.

LOL. Pretty soon buggy or truggy will be erased. The V2-V3 from proline makes the buggy tires wider, AND the have the VTR which makes the truggy tire narrower. So....where does the line get drawn to keep them seperate?

V3 tires are pretty much illegal in every sanctioning body now. But, the VTR technically are illegal in the ROAR rules.

Thanks for all the input.. I'm looking at the VTR's now. The caliber's look like they would work really good.

Checkout the jConcepts Crosshairs they are a narrower tire than say aka or lpr prolines. I have ran them a few times they are a medium pin tire and the narrower profile helps with turn-in.
They are not say 1/2 the width of normal but they are narrower. The only other narrow tire I know of is the cutdown holeshot, but that is a custom deal that takes skill and time
