Default Got my cooling heads already to go.

I had my machinist lighten the heads with some cooling holes and the had the local anodising shop put some color in them. What do you guys think?
They fit Novarossi and RB Concept 4bolt engines.

Before anodising with holes drilled

After anodising

Very nice.

What alloy are they?

Are these for your own enjoyment or do you plan on selling them?

Yeah those sure are some nice colors. Not to make fun of them, but it does make me think of easter.

But seriously, nice work. I would also like to know what grade aluminum you used and if you were gonna try and sell them. If so, post the info cause they sure look good.

These are made from 6061.
I might be able to sell a red one right now, but I think the other ones have already been spoken for.

you asking him or me???
i use a 2.5 ball end hex for those mounts
makes life a whole lot easier
but yes i have thought getting that done to them also
might send them back to machinist now
if they do get cut it would look real good with the anodising
then polished out area where its cut out

They look great, but are they lighter than stock heads?

Novarossi 21-5k and the FMS heads weigh only 74grams.

What motor base is my Reedy 121VR? I would be interested in a Hot Pink one!

I do not do any type of machine work at all. I have a good friend that takes care of me.

I doubt they are lighter than those heads, as these heads are larger, but I have not weighed to make sure. A friend of mine will be using the pink on his 21-5K in the future.
