They do look pretty similar.. I just order city blocks, or I would've waited for these..

Thats cool on the buggy tires, although I thought VP would come out with SCT tires first. Since that is the new thing now days. Its good though, I like running two classes, loved buggy and gas truck, never wanted to wrench a truggy and buggy on same weekend....

Questions?? VP Shock Oils

I just ran out of my Mugen shock oils and am looking to replace them with the VP oils. I went to the VP site for a reference in CST ratings for these oils and then compared this to the CST ratings for Mugen oils.

The VP site says that 40 wt Losi oil is comparable to the VP 550 oil. Then when you go to:

http://www.rcrcr.com/index.php?optio...eral&Itemid=46

it says that Losi 40wt oil is actually 500 CST and that Mugen 450 oil is actually 493 CST. So this would give VP 550 an actual CST rating closer to 500.

So if I need to replace my Mugen 450 and 500 oil do I need VP 550 and 600 oil?

My advice, just go with the ratings on the oils themselves when rated properly like Mugen, GS, and VP Pro. The 'wt' terminology is an abstraction, oils rated like this have no actual reference except through experience. Losi and AE oils are about a 1/2 weight difference so if you've got and AE oil that is a little too heavy/light, go to the Losi oil that's rated the same.

Once you do some testing, please report back and let us know what you find.

That chart you refferenced was made by me years ago.
I also made the chart on the VP-Pro site. It is just an estimate. If you notice, it says compared to Losi/ASC but Losi 30wt does not equal AE 30wt so that right there tells you the chart is not 100% acurate. But 500 VP oil does = 500 Mugen oil so don't worry about the US standard conversion because there is not one.

They did but for some reason they never released them and then started on 1/10th buggy tires. But SC Axman cad drawings were made almost 1 year ago, just waiting on samples. They will be out at the same time as the buggy tires I am told.
