Default Extreme racing carbon towers Good or Bad?

I run these on a D8 and every time they break in the same spot the top of the tower where the shock hole is drilled.

If you have an opinion based off experience with Extreme Racing towers please share.

got only experience with WB-Racer-Ace towers that are 5mm thick and made much better(compared to just 4mm extreme racing) and even they break.

get aluminum towers (wb-racer-ace alu towers are very tough)
or even HB standard towers as aluminum will just bend allowing you to finish the race unlike carbon that will break and your run is over.

Are you using Coned Washers when mounting the shock standoffs? This will reinforce the setup.

use a washer where they have ben breaking this will help spread the
stress load on the tower is it
the rear that keeps breaking?

Yes its the rear tower. The front will get stress cracks in a horizontal line at the top of the diff. case before breaking.

I am sure the washer helps but after 3 breaking I am going back to Aluminum.

I use Carbon fibers in many areas but shock towers is not one of them.....
Stickin way up there is an issue. Maybe OK on a 1/10 scale cause they are SO much lighter. 1/8 scalers are twice the weight and faster, It's gonna happen no matter who's Carbon it is.

I've ran the extreme carbon towers on my D8-E's front and rear and have been quite pleased with them. The only issue I have ever had with one was my rear tower broke where the rear turnbuckle mounts to the tower. A washer will help not put so much pressure on it and most likely saved it!

IMO Extreme tower's are low grade SSG composite like most other Upgrade tower's you can buy.....RC mfg's cant justify the price of REAL Cf its Way too expensive.
