Default Ofna 1/8th Truggy starter box question

I was using stick packs but want to switch to something other than Lipo in this box. 12v gel cell works but has anyone used this one and is it an easy fit to add connectors with this battery?

Racers Edge 12v Ge battery

why not a lipo? a 12v gel cell is SO heavy. and you dont have to have one of those high dollar lipo batteries. i got a 4s zippy lipo and it works FLAWLESS. think about it, much easier to transport the box and i race every weekend and only have to charge it about every 5 weeks. here is a link to the exact battery i have. i would greatly recommend this over a gel cell. just my .02

WT??

Get a better lipo. A 5000 mah 4cell lipo should keep you going forever. With my truggy box and lipo I have to be careful I don't snap my conrod or burn my starter wheel to dust.

Gell cells have no balls.

so why would you want a battery that has that much power that you have to worry about fryin your rod every time you start your engine or worry about buyin a new wheel all the time. my 3000mah lipo works JUST fine and does so for about 5 weeks. turned over my brand new ninja for break in without a sweat

Just exagerating a little. Artistic license, or TAG body spray.

I preheat to 200 so I don't have to worry. When I pick up my starter box and squeeze it it jumps sideways like a big block in a Chevelle.

My point is why go away from lipo? The 12v gell cell is a huge step down in power and reliabilty. I don't get why the OP is ditching them.

I use a gel cell. It fits fine and provides plenty of power.
