yea you need to change those motors out. but it seems like there is something internally that is burning all that stuff up. i havent had any problems except for replacing motors like losi racer said.

Not to step on anyones toes but I have terrible luck with the losi starter box. I ended up going with an ofna.

I havent had any issues with mine really. I discovered quickly that I couldnt pop it on the box and press the rear end down or the flywheel would slip on the starter wheel. Once I pushed down on the plug ignitor or heat sink it made good contact and I didnt have any problems. I'm going to shim the entire assembly "up" a little bit to alleviate this issue.

I dont preheat my motor and run two cheap stick packs. It will last at least 2 complete race weekends (to include practice runs).

The old stock losi box flat out sucks. Get an ofna truggy box and be done with it. The ofna truggy box will start anything.

The ofna motors are too large to fit in the losi mounting bracket also. If you go this router and buy all the ofna internals, you might as well just buy their truggy box.

If they are the same ofna motors in the truggy box, which I believe are 775, just redrilling the holes will not work. The center opening is not large enough to tighten the belt. In addition the ofna motors have a different size pinion which screws up the whole belt size. Like I said, I am referring to the truggy box 775 motors.

ya....i just used some new losi belt drive gears(pressed on)...but, the mounting screw holes line up with the traxxas motors.........just have to carefully space the motors so that the flux rings dont contact the (metal) box, itself..........over time, with contact the motors magnets will weaken, slightly.....
